The MetroBoston DataCommon is an online tool providing data about the region and each of its cities and towns. It is a resource for all those wishing to better understand how the region and its communities are changing, and help residents, planners, city and town officials, educators, and journalists explore options and make informed decisions(Click here to download a DataCommon flyer).
In addition to its founding partners, MAPC and the Boston Indicators Project at the Boston Foundation, MetroBoston DataCommon has received guidance from the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning Urban Information Systems Group, which is developing “Intelligent Middleware” for the project’s next phase. This work is part of the Brookings Institution’s Urban Market Initiative. MetroBoston DataCommon’s development has been supported by the Barr Foundation, the Boston Foundation, Metropolitan Area Planning Council, James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Foundation and the United State Geological Survey (USGS).
