General Population Statistics: Block Group Data

The following data layers are available on the DataMap Tool.

   
 
Population Data, 2000, Block Group
This datalayer presents population data from 2000 at the block group level. The data for each block group include the number of people, the population density, and the population by gender, by age group, and by other categories. Block Group is a statistical subdivision of a census tract. It is the lowest-level geographic entity for which the Census Bureau tabulates sample data from the decennial census. Household & Family Data, 2000, Block Group
This data set contains data about households and families in 2000, at the block group level. A household includes all the people who occupy a housing unit as their usual place of residence; household size is the total number of people living in a housing unit; family is a group of two or more people who reside together and who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption. For more census definitions, see the census glossary.

Race & Ethnicity Population Data, 2000, Block Group
This datalayer contains data that displays the population by categories of race, including white, black, Hispanic, Asian, and other. It also contains data of foreign born population, grouped by the year of entry, and the ability to speak English.
